Sending & Receiving Files
Pro Tools Users
1.) When you are done with your session and are saving it so that Lu can mix it. We need you to follow these instructions very carefully.
Open your session and go to "FILE" and select "Save copy in" a pop up menu will appear follow the instructions like this
Save As: "the name of the song - for Lu Diaz"
Where: "Desktop"
Format: "Latest"
Audio File Type: "AIFF"
Sample Rate: "44.1kHz"
Bit Depth: "24bit"
Fader Gain "+12" (If Pro Tools does not let you switch, this is fine to leave at either "+12" or at "+6")
Items to Copy: Only select "Audio Files" note that the "All Non-Aiff Audio Files" will be dimmed and selected that is normal
Every other item in this menu should NOT be selected, that includes
"Don't copy fade files"
"Session Plug-Ins Settings Folder"
"Root Plug-Ins Settings Folder"
"Movie/Video Files"
"Preserve Folder Hierarchy"
Now go ahead and click on the "Save" button......................
Once this process is done close Pro Tools and go to your desktop, there you should see a folder called "The name of your song for Lu Diaz" this is the file you will be sending us.
If you are mailing a DVD of the session it is absolutely important that you burn a DVD copy of the folder on your desktop, not the original session.
If you are sending the file via the internet. you need to contact us at LuDiazMix@gmail.com so that we can arrange a drop box for you.
We will send you an email with a link. The link will take you to our drop box where you will be able to upload your session.
2.) Please make sure you either include a copy of a reference mix in the desktop folder or email us an MP3 to LuDiazMix@gmail.com
3.) Please make sure to send us an email if you have any special requirements or important notes concerning the mix. Please include your contact information, email address and phone number if possible. The more information you give us the better job Lu will do for you
4.) Remember that there are no stupid questions if you have any concerns or inquiries please don't hesitate to email us at LuDiazMix@gmail.com .
For those of you who are not using ProTools please read
Please bounce down each sound as a wave file. Remember to bounce down every track (sound) from the beginning of the song to the end so that every file is the same length and size, Take all the wave files you bounced down and put into a folder Name folder "The name of your song for Lu Diaz" and send that folder. We will assemble a Pro Tools session for you.
It is absolutely important that you send a REFERENCE MIX so that we can check for mistakes.
